We have the capability to conduct non-contact thermal analysis. This can be used as preventative maintenance or to help troubleshoot an issue you or your company may be having. We use a high quality FLIR camera that records detailed thermograms for analysis. We hold a FLIR factory trained level 1 infrared thermographer certification from the Infrared Training Center.
Non-contact thermal analysis has advantages over other inspection types.
Our camera has the capability to take videos of the item being tested while many other IR cameras can only record still frames. This could be beneficial to you if you want to know if your equipment or device has a significant heat change after a period of time. Another area this could be of help is in tracking heat transfer. IR cameras pick up thermal radiation so you are seeing surface heat. This is important to know because a misconception is you can see through items with an IR camera and that just isn't so.
What you can do however, is see if something behind the item you're looking at has a different thermal transfer. A couple examples of this would be a fluid or even a wood stud behind sheetrock. If the items have a different thermal transfer, then you will see the difference. So a wood stud behind sheetrock would show because it would be transferring a different temperature to that spot on the sheetrock.
If you have even a small project or piece of equipment you would like us to conduct a thermal analysis on, we would be glad to help. Depending on the items size or requirements, we can come to your site or you can bring it to our facility. We would be happy to work with you on project design over time as well, if you feel thermal analysis would be beneficial to you.
